As of Sept 1st, there were many more of these eyesore, scamming, illegal signs around Newbold. Newbold Neighbors is holding a contest: Take Down the Signs! The person to bring the most signs to the next meeting or otherwise document their bounty by photograph wins a prize (to be announced). Extra credit if you make something like a birdhouse or planter out of the plastic sign.
As we've stepped up sign removal, the folks putting the signs up have moved them higher and started using more nails. Sites like CAUSS (Citizens Against Ugly Street Spam) have sprung up full of instructions on creating your own sign removal tools out of common household items.
