A BIG THANKS to everyone who came out this weekend to help clean up DiSilvestro Park and to pick up discarded tires around the neighborhood.
Volunteers at DiSilvestro filled 6 bags of trash and recycling, and even got the folks playing basketball to chip in!
In total, our band of roving tire-spotters picked up 234 tires from street corners, vacant lots, and yards. The tires were being collected by the Philly Streets Department as part of their Tire Round-Up Program, and raised over $100 for our neighborhood group to continue our cleaning and greening efforts around South Philly.
